This incredible building dates back to the late 1800s and has an imposing presence in the beautiful countryside located in a slight elevated position but on the flat overlooking the hills of Antequera. The property is accessed via a tarmac road and is two and a half miles from a village and the last three hundred yards are on a dirt road in very good condition. Although connected to another house by a courtyard wall, this property has been reformed to high standard which includes new roof, windows, plumbing, electrics, kitchen and bathroom all still retaining its incredible tradition and charming character.
Upon approach to the perimeter of the building there is a gate leading to ample parking space. To the right hand side is the old dairy and to the left hand side is the building. Entrance to the interior courtyard is via very tall double wooden doorway positioned below an archway which lead into a very big internal courtyard with an old fashioned well in the middle. Upon entering the courtyard there is doorway to the left hand side and a further doorway once again on the left hand side. The second doorway leads to the former chapel in which you will find antiques from days gone by.
To the right hand side of the patio you will find access to the main living area in which the present owner still lives in. This section of the cortijo has been beautifully and carefully reformed. As you enter via a set of dark wooden doors, you enter a reception room with terracotta tiles and exposed beams and a wide staircase featuring traditional stile Andalucian tiles, the staircase ascends in an "L" shape to the second storey via wide archway with double wooden doors with a balcony overlooking the hills of Antequera. Straight ahead there is access to a corridor which leads to three ample bedrooms and a modern stile fitted bathroom.
At the top of the staircase but to the left hand side there is access to an ample dinning room with an open fireplace and access to the kitchen which features granite work surfaces and is of ample size. From the kitchen, there is access via a low doorway (which looks like a built-in cupboard) to the very old part of the Cortijo, this part is in need of reform, from one room it leads to even bigger rooms.
From the courtyard and ahead there is access to what used to be the olive press, this is a building in relatively good condition but still needing refurbishing and includes four underground oil reservoirs. Leading on from this building is access to the rear of the property where the animals were fed.
To the rear of the buildings there are open stables and views second to none.
There is a wealth of character throughout the whole property which includes stone floors, ample rooms with very tall ceilings, exposed wooden beams, Andalucian rejas and views of the unspoilt countryside.
This property would be an ideal project for rural tourism, luxurious hotel or for investment purposes.
