It also boasts 5 bars, which serve local Spanish tapas, and on Fridays there is a small market in the plaza where you can buy good local produce. As you would expect in Spain, Almanzora has its fair share of fiestas and these are held during the summer months. The nearest town from the Cortijo is Albox and is approx 15 minutes drive; there you will find a large supermarket, various shops, bars and restaurants. There are also 2 secondary schools and 3 primary schools. There are many coastal resorts within a short drive including Mojacar, San Juan and the very Spanish town of Garrucha which has the best fish restaurants. The closest airport is Almeria, about an hours drive away. Murcia and Alicante are both just over 1.5 and 2 hours away respectively.
